'Keeping Mildew Off  Of Your Tack'

The best thing you can do is make sure that you have good ventilation and light in your tack room. Get a fan or dehumidifier. Keep in mind that mold likes moisture and damp conditions. Mold spores spread and breed by the millions.

Take moldy leather out of your tack room and clean it outdoors. This way you will not spread the spores everywhere. Get a dozen or so clean cloths to clean your tack (do not rinse and reuse your cloths as this will also spread the spores).

Use a ph- neutral product to clean the tack as it will clean and condition the leather and inhibit the mold growth.

Happy Trails To You and Your Horse,
