The best thing you can do is make sure that you have
good ventilation and light in your tack room. Get a
fan or dehumidifier. Keep in mind that mold likes
moisture and damp conditions. Mold spores spread and
breed by the millions.
Take
moldy leather out of your tack room and clean it
outdoors. This way you will not spread the spores
everywhere. Get a dozen or so clean cloths to clean
your tack (do not rinse and reuse your cloths as
this will also spread the spores).
Use a ph-
neutral product to clean the tack as it will clean
and
condition the leather and inhibit the mold growth.
